Our Civil Engineering Division incorporates the firm’s civil engineers as well as land planners, who cooperate in order to develop site designs that are constructable and cost-effective while still reflecting the creativity for which Lose & Associates has become well known. Our civil engineers regularly prepare infrastructure designs, including roadway and utility components and have many years of experience in the regulatory permitting process. We also have hands-on experience with LEED® certified and designed projects and have helped our public and private clients understand the potential environmental and financial benefits of “green” design.

Our knowledge of DOT procedures is current and quite extensive, giving us an excellent understanding of the processes and approval steps involved when spending federal funds. Strict adherence to these procedures is a must in order to keep a project on track. We have proven our ability to comply with these procedures many times. Additionally, our expertise and experience with permitting under the Clean Water Act, FEMA Letters of Map Change, NEPA compliance, and coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and TVA is extensive and well documented. We have led the civil design and permitting for many transportation enhancement grant projects, and we are prequalified with several state DOTs in the Southeast.

Our civil engineering history includes numerous site development plans for both the private and public sector. Among our many projects, we have provided site plans and infrastructure designs, including stormwater quantity and quality management plans, roadway design and utility design, flood studies, and sediment and erosion control plans for a wide variety of projects. No site is too small or too large…we have designed everything from small, dense infill sites measuring less than an acre to large multi-use projects on many hundreds of acres.
